"I will worship toward your holy temple, and praise your name for your lovingkindness and for your truth: for you have magnified your word above all your name." (Psalm 138:2 NKJV).
God's words are the most valuable words you can ever hear or read. The person who values the Word of God will receive more revelations of God's Word. There's the "surface knowledge" of God's Word, but there are far deeper spiritual truths that are hidden in the Word of God that can only be revealed to you by the Spirit of God. If you have value for the Word of God and the things of God, and pursue them, recognising and appreciating their value, God will reveal those deep truths to you.
There're people who don't value the Word of God, nor the things of God. Such things steal so much from them and hinder them in so many ways. When the Lord Jesus was teaching His disciples about sharing the revelation knowledge of God's Word with other people, He told them not to share it with those who have no value for it, nor for the things of God; He said, "Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and tear you." (Matthew 7:6 NKJV).
When you give dogs something that is holy, they won't receive it because they have no value for holy things (the things that pertain to God). The Lord Jesus said they may even turn around and bite you after you share those holy things with them. That's why when you share the knowledge of God with some people, knowledge that you know is very valuable and beneficial, the same people will begin to argue with you. That shouldn't surprise you, you have to realise that you have met someone who doesn't have value for holy things. What you should do is be moved with compassion for them, pray for them, and move on to find others who will value those things and bless them with them, because as a child of God, God has made you a blessing to your world. You're not the one looking to be blessed by God, you're the blessed of God, sent to bless your world; you've been blessed to be a blessing!
The Lord Jesus also told His disciples not to give their pearls to swine for food. He said they would trample on them. Why? It's because swine don't know the value of pearls, and so they don't value them. They'll walk all over those pearls as if they're nothing. That's how it is with some people. You may give them God's Word, which is of greater value than anything else you can give to them, but those words can't improve their lives because they don't see or know the value of those words. Once again, you should be moved with compassion for them and pray for them that may see the value of the Word. You should then move on to find others who will value the Word of God, and give it to them to bless them and improve their lives.
God wants you to know Him on a very deep and personal level. In order for this to be real in your life, you have to have value for His Word, because it's through His Word that He reveals Himself and His ways to you.
