"And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant." (Exodus 6:5 KJV).
Did you know that you can attract greater manifestations of God into your life through your strong desire? Desire is one of the principles of the spiritual realm. James 1:15 tells us that lust brings forth sin. Lust is a strong desire for something that is wrong and forbidden; and we're told that, that strong desire produces something in the realm of the spirit. In the same way, your strong desire for good things brings forth and attracts good things into your life. Our opening scripture gives us God's words to Moses. God had just appeared to Moses to send him to deliver the Israelites from their bondage to the Egyptians. God appearing to Moses and speaking the words that He spoke to him in our opening scripture was a response to the strong desire of the Israelites for Him and His power to save them. Several chapters before what we read in our opening scripture, we're told, "And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage. And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them." (Exodus 2:23-25 KJV).
The Israelites had a strong desire for change in their lives, and they desired that the God of their forefathers would help them in their time of difficulty. Their strong desire for God attracted God and caused Him to manifest and act on their behalf! God appeared to them, delivered and protected them from the Egyptians, walked amongst them, taught them, led them, fed them, clothed them, brought them into and entered the promised land with them!
You might be in need for some serious changes in your life today. You might be frustrated, broken down, confused and in need of answers in your life. What you need to do is to cultivate a strong desire for God and His truth in your life. Put the spiritual principle of strong desire to work and you'll get the results that you're seeking and more. The Bible says, "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." (Hebrews 11:6 NKJV). God rewards those who diligently seek Him. In other words, if you look for God, strongly desiring Him, you will find Him; your search will not be unprofitable.
The Lord Jesus said, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." (Matthew 7:7-8 NIV). This speaks of desiring God and from God, and how that those desires will always be met and satisfied by Him. What are you desiring from God? Do you want to know and understand Him more? Do you want to know who He really is and what His Person is like? Do you want to walk in greater fellowship with Him? Do you want to grow spiritually? Do you want Him to teach you about spiritual things? Are you hungry for the truth? Are you craving changes in your life that only His power can produce? Are you desiring to walk in greater wisdom? Do you have a strong desire for knowledge and understanding? Whatever your desires may be, direct them towards God and they will be satisfied: "Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart." (Psalm 37:4 ESV).
Some things in your life won't change until you develop the strong desire for them to change. The right and strong desires are very important in and for our spiritual lives, as well the physical and material aspects of our lives. So, learn to continually cultivate and maintain your strong desire for God, spiritual things and every good and right thing that is consistent with His glory, life, nature and will.
