By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome
"Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature…" (2 Peter 1:4 KJV)
When you were born again, you were catapulted from the domain of darkness into God’s marvellous light – the Kingdom of His Love-Son: “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us met to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son” (Colossians 1:12-13).
Then 2 Peter 1:4 says, “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature…” We are participators in the divine experience. We are not spectators in the Kingdom; we are part of the process of making things happen. Hallelujah!
We are now involved in that special life that God has, which hitherto no other being had. Now we have the nature of God! It is the reason you can speak from where you are and things will happen. You can direct the power of God in a certain direction through your words or your hands.
Do you remember Moses? God said to him, “Stretch your hand over the water and divide it!” (Exodus 14:16). Moses parted the Red Sea by stretching forth his hand over the sea. That was him participating in the divine experience: God gave the Word, Moses acted a miracle ensued.
What could have been the connection between a man’s hand and a raging sea? God is showing us something spiritual about our oneness with Him and our role in the divine experience. Recall the words of Jesus in John 15:5: “I am the vine, ye are the branches…for without me ye can do nothing.”
For the latter part of that verse, the reverse is also true. He needs us as much as we need Him. He works, and walks in and through us today. Like Moses, when you lift your hands, they’re God’s hands; therefore, God responds. Your victory has been settled; all you have to do is walk in the light of it. Study the Word to know and play your role in the divine experience. You’re not an ordinary person.
"Thank you Father for such a privilege to be involved in the God-experience. I function every moment from the standpoint of advantage and victory, for you are at work in me, invigorating me with the life and nature of Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen."
